Steps in the Transfer Credit Process for Transfer Students

If you have attended an institution outside of the United States, the College requires and official course-by-course evaluation be submitted from or another evaluation service which is a member of the , in order to determine if transfer credit can be awarded.
If you previously attended a non-collegiate education program that has been articulated through the American Council on Education (ACE), you should also submit that transcript for evaluation.
Step 2: Check your for updates regarding your transfer credits
Claim your if you have not already done so.
If additional information, such as a course syllabus, is required in order to determine a course鈥檚 equivalency, you will be contacted via email for this information.
Once transfer credit has been awarded you will receive an email notice with your next steps in the enrollment process.
During peak times in the enrollment cycle, there may be longer processing times in awarding transfer credits. You will receive an update regarding your transfer credit in approximately ten business days from when the student records evaluator receives your transcript. This processing time will be much shorter if you are transferring from an institution that already has established course equivalencies.
Step 3: Meet with an Academic Advisor and register for classes
After you receive an email notice stating that your transcripts have been evaluated, you can review this information on the My Progress/Self-Service webpage.
This question may be best answered during your meeting with an academic advisor in West Hall. A combination of test scores and transcripts from both high school and college may be needed to determine what placement tests are required if you did not receive certain transfer credits.
Courses must have a letter grade of 鈥淐鈥 or higher awarded on the transcript. No transfer credit will be awarded for courses that have been taken on a Pass/Fail basis.
Courses are subject to review after time a significant amount of time has passed since the course was completed.聽Math, science and computer science courses are subject to review after five years and all other courses are subject to review after ten years.
Not all courses taken at other institutions are equivalent to courses offered at 天美传媒. If there is not an equivalent 天美传媒 course that matches in the content and credit hours to the already completed course, transfer elective credit may be awarded.聽If the transfer elective credits do not fit into the general education degree requirements, then those credits may be used in another elective category if there is one in your degree program.
